IVRS uses a behavioral treatment approach placing emphasis on positive lifestyle changes consistent with recovery while developing skills and abilities to function positively within various contexts.

Clients collaborate with program staff to develop individualized treatment plans that intervene educationally, therapeutically and behaviorally. The treatment plans target various personal issues that contribute to the client’s continued substance abuse and underlying issues. Clients receive education and therapy groups along with individual counseling sessions and case management services.

The most effective treatment of substance abuse disorders includes motivating the client to

Stop using mind-altering substances
Self-evaluate their substance use and its disadvantages
Make a commitment to abstinence
Explore higher values that can provide meaning and purpose to a drug-free life, and
Identify and resolve related personal and life
problems.

IVRS provides aftercare services to clients upon successful completion of treatment. Aftercare groups are held one time per week. It is utilized to continue with their support system and to educate clients to prevent relapse.

In addition, IVRS introduces clients’ to the 12-Step fellowships of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA); Narcotics Anonymous (NA), and Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA) through meetings taking place daily at IVRS’ Recovery Center. The Recovery Center also provides walk-in crisis intervention counseling and clients are welcome to utilize services at any time.

In addition, the Recovery Center offers clean and sober activities to aftercare clients (and to the public) including dances, karaoke, pool tournaments, comedy night, and more. There are books to read, a big-screen TV, pool tables, pinball machines, and nice comfortable sofas to relax with a cup of coffee if they like.
