IVRS offers residential treatment to adult men in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. The men’s program consists of 3 single-family homes each with a capacity of 6 beds. The homes are in close proximity of each other allowing for joint programming of all 18 clients together. The program is based on the “Therapeutic Community” (TC) model of treatment, providing a safe and stable environment for the first stages of recovery. Length of stay ranges from 7 to 90 days.
Chronic alcohol and drug abuse is associated with poor communication skills, financial difficulties, a detrimental system of values and attitudes, criminal behavior, and poor comprehension of long-term goals. Effective treatment ideally addresses each of these points in a manner that considers the particular needs of the individual client.
Individualized treatment plans are developed to address specific needs. In addition, clients receive education and therapy groups, individual counseling sessions, parenting classes, anger management, job- readiness training and life skills preparation.
Our treatment approach is designed to prepare individuals for transition back into the community. Once the client has demonstrated positive behavior changes, and has completed all treatment plan goals, an exit plan is formulated. The exit plan determines the client’s follow up recovery plan.
Aftercare services are provided to clients upon successful completion of treatment. Aftercare groups take place 1-3 time per week and are designed to help clients address issues arising from reunification with family, legal issues, financial issues, and job search.
In addition, IVRS introduces clients’ to the 12-Step fellowships of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA); Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA); and Dual Diagnosis Anonymous (DDA) through meetings taking place daily at IVRS’ Recovery Center. The Recovery Center also provides walk-in crisis intervention counseling and clients are welcome to utilize services at any time.
In addition, the Recovery Center offers clean and sober activities to aftercare clients (and to the public) including dances, karaoke, yoga, pool tournaments, comedy night, and more. There are books to read, a big-screen TV, pool tables, pinball machines, and a nice comfortable sofa to relax with a cup of coffee if they like.
